'The hallmark of a school library in the twenty-first century is not its collections, its systems, its technology, its staffing, or its buildings, but the actions and evidences that show it makes a real difference to student learning, that it contributes in tangible and significant ways to the development of human understanding, meaning making, and constructing knowledge.' (Todd, 2001) This portfolio represents my Situated Professional Practice for the Masters of Education (teacher librarianship) at QUT. My critical reflections are based on my professional experience at three sites, and are structured under the ‘Standards of professional excellence for teacher librarians’; a statement endorsed by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and the Australian School Library Association (ASLA).
